Sonia Moslero Mellado is the founder of Zahori massage, She is a Licensed Massage Therapist in Chiromassage, Kobido Massage, Craniosacral, Lymphatic Drainage and Reiki. Professional, member of Cofenat (Association of Professionals and Autonomous Natural Therapists). Zahorí is inspired by the murmur of the water that flows down along the ravine. Its cadence suggests you to take a rest in your journey. Take a break, take a deep breath and connect with your body, with your inside, with the things you have to say, and the things you want for yourself. SONIA:
The different lives I have lived that brought me back to the language of the body.
I come from Corodoba, and grew up in a family of 11, in a house full of literature, with many brothers and sisters and many noises.
From a very young age I got used to living in my fantasy world. I wrote the first poems when I was 8. I always felt called to nature. In my city I didn't have many green spaces, but I used to wander through small squares and gardens. My best friend was still a tree, a majestic pine called Leti.
I have a son. He’s now 27. Motherhood has changed my way of feeling the world.
I’ve lived and worked many lives: a school farm, phytotherapy, a day laborer, the hospitality industry, in an NGO, and a university student at a later age, where I took to philology. As a language, I chose Arabic, a language of mystery from my childhood when I wandered through the streets and monuments of Córdoba seeing that writing on doors and building decorations.
Some years back, I came to Capileira with Jaime thanks to my sister who offered us her house. I set out to a professional massage course - something that had long been growing in me. At first, I felt insecure, worse but then, when I started to give massages I made an incredible discovery: there is a language that needs no words, more pure, more primary, more truthful. The language of the body.
To this discovery were added going out to the countryside without haste, delighting in every little detail, drinking every moment. This brought me to the language of nature that, like the body speaks in the present.
The first training I did was in Reiki, from that moment it was my hands that guided me. Perhaps that is why I have felt identified with dowsers, since my hands perceive the fluids, vibrations and different temperatures under the skin that a body naturally transmits, which is apparently invisible. But it’ is there, waiting to be recognized and acknowledged.
My hands have taught me to share love without judgment, to communicate without writing, to listen without mediating words,
and best of all, that this is a gift that nature has given us to all human beings, you just need to take the time and the space to do it.

FLAMENCO Cristina Serrano Paz,
Dancer & Founder of Flamenco La Fuente
In 2004, I co-founded Flamenco la Fuente school in Capileira. I was born in Madrid but I have lived here n the province of Granada for the last 30 years. I started dancing some 20 years ago. I learned flamenco from Ana Cáli, Rosa 'La Canastera', Gadea, Takako, Lydia Pousa and many more. Some ten years ago, I formed my own dancing group 'Esquina del Agua' -
we have performed all over Andalucia.
I have spent many years teaching the art of Flamenco for all levels of experience and I’ve been called a patient and inspiring teacher

Jaime Serveto
I was born on the island of Mallorca and have a degree in Biology from the University of Seville. Almost all my professional life has been dedicated to the dissemination, communication and interpretation of the environment, developing programs and activities for all types of audiences. Much of this work has been done in two of the most important protected natural areas in Europe: The Doñana National Park and the Sierra Nevada National Park. I likes to walk in nature observing and discovering its processes and phenomena. My objective is not so much to reach a final destination, rather to enjoy, along the way, what the path reveals. I also enjoy being a craftsman, and carpenter, fashioning creative objects in wood. For me, artistic creation as well as observation and respect for the natural environment are two essential aspects of being a human in this world.
Jaime Serveto

Lurdes Garcia Preito
I have lived in the La Alpujarra region since 2001 when I moved here from Barcelona. I’m based in Bubión, the next village down from Capileira. For me, it was love at first sight to see the mountains. I have studied courses in English Philology at the UB (Barcelona) and at the University of Granada (I'm still in the process of finishing). Since moving to Bubion, I’ve had an eclectic work experience: running a bookshop, as a waitress in a restaurant, and teaching English and Spanish to both children and adults. At present, I work part time in the Casa Alpujarreña Museum in Bubion as a guide, sharing history, traditions and ethnographic treasures of this unique place I now call home.

I am a historian and archeologist, and live in the neighboring town (5 minutes down the hill from Capiliera) of Bubión (La Alpujarra.) I have participated in several archaeological excavations, national and international, focused on the medieval period. My true passion, and I hope that my future as well - is to preserve and share the rural heritage of Alpujarra, seriously threatened today.
